Lyttelton, portal to Canterbury’s historic past, a vibrant sustainable community creating a living future

Do you have an idea you're itching to share? Do you want to contribute in some way to the work of Project Lyttelton? Do you need some help brainstorming, developing or instituting a new initiative that would benefit the people of the harbour?

PL works on the principle of following where our passion leads us. Every project that we take on must have a champion who is willing to put their energy behind it. So if you're that person ...

... send us an email (click on CONTACT PL in the menu navigation at the top of the page).

You might want to get involved in a current project, like helping out with one of our festivals or volunteering at the Farmers' Market. For each of our projects, we have an advisory group, made up of interested community members. There are lots of ways for you to have input and get involved, so don't hesitate to get in touch.

A great example of a project that came about in this way is the Tree of Hope, a Christmas project in Lyttelton that distributed donated presents to those who might struggle to put presents under the tree for their families. Project Lyttelton, The Lyttelton Harbour Information Centre, Lyttelton Community House and Lyttelton Library worked together with Teresa Cameron - the "you" whose wonderful idea this was - to make this project a great success and joy to many on our community.
