Garage Sale Back at Project Lyttelton

The Garage Sale has been successfully transitioned back to it's former location at 54a Oxford Street Lyttelton.
If you shopped there in the past you will hardly recognize the updated premises. The old garage door has been replaced with lovely bi-folding doors. The interior is now all painted white and the lighting upgrade means you can see all the treasures easily. More shelving has been installed and now we have a dedicated library section filled with books of all genres plus DVD's CD's and LP's.
Best of all we also have an amazing range of pre loved  goods.
GaragesaleRozPicsNZweb 2There are many people to thank for making the upgrade possible:
The Garage Sale Team , Teresa, Claire, Michaela who spent many hours organising the move
Our dedicated volunteers - Robyn, Mike, Emma, Ruth, Valda
Funders and in kind supporters  - Resene Paint, Lyttelton Mt Herbert Community Board, ACTIS, Project Lyttelton, private donations
Community Groups - Lyttelton Lions, St Saviours at Trinity and the Diamond Harbour Choir who donated proceeds of some Saturdays to support the refurbishment

Operating hours for 2016 are:
Wednesday  10:30-4pm
Thursday     10:30-4pm
Friday         10:30-4pm
Saturday     10:30-1pm

This wonderful community resource is more than just a garage sale - every penny of the money goes directly to support community groups in the Lyttelton Harbour. The sales can be booked by a group as a fundraiser - they arrive with their own volunteers, manage the sale between 10am and 1pm on a Saturday, pack it away and keep all the proceeds for their cause. Groups that have run sales include: the Lyttelton Sea Scouts, the Community Garden, Lyttelton Harbour TimeBank, Lyttelton Community House, Volcano Radio, the eARThquake Art Therapy Initiative, The Lyttelton Petanque Club and Lyttelton Main School camp.

Donations of quality second hand items (sorry no electrical or large items) are always most gratefully accepted and can be dropped at the shed. If you're having a big clean and sort out, please help your community to help itself by donating to The Garage Sale today! Lyttelton Harbour TimeBank members also receive a TimeBank credit for every donation!

If you are a member of a community group or club and are interested in booking a sale for your group or volunteering please do get in touch with the Project Lyttelton Office on 328 9243.

Come visit us and snap up a bargain or two!
