6 – 7:30pm - A Taste of Winter: A food and wine pairing at  Roots Restaurant

Join leading local wine writer, Jo Burzynska and Lyttelton's hottest new restaurant, Roots, for a convivial and cosy evening of winter food and wines. Jo will be presenting some warming reds from both near and far, matched by canapés created by Roots to suit the wines and winter season.

6:30 -7.30pm - Stories After Dark - Lyttelton Library

It was a dark, dark night......perfect for hot chocolate and night-time stories at the Lyttelton Library. For Children aged 5-10 (and their carers). Curl up with a delicious hot chocolate and listen to some scintillating stories followed by a little crafty activity. Free

Matariki Celebrations

Matariki is the Māori name for a cluster of stars which is visible in the New Zealand night sky at a specific time of the year. Matariki re-appears in the dawn sky mid-winter signalling the start of the Māori New Year and the date changes each year according to the Māori lunar calendar.
