Do you have an idea you're itching to share? Do you want to contribute in some way to the work of Project Lyttelton? Do you need some help brainstorming, developing or instituting a new initiative that would benefit the people of the harbour? Are you starting or involved in a similar project or organisation in your community and would like to talk to us and learn about how we do things here?
One of the principles we follow at PL is letting the passion lead. Every project that we take on must have a champion who is willing to put their energy behind it. So if you're that person ...
... send us an email (click on CONTACT PL in the menu navigation at the top of the page).
You might want to get involved in a current project, like helping out with one of our festivals, coming to our weekly Community Garden Wednesdays or volunteering at the Farmers' Market. For each of our projects, we have an advisory group, made up of interested community members. There are lots of ways for you to have input and get involved, so don't hesitate to get in touch.
Some great examples of projects that came about in this way is the Tree of Hope, a Christmas project in Lyttelton that distributed donated presents to those who might struggle to put presents under the tree for their families, and the Library of Tools and Things, which was started by board member Trevor.
